Biography

Lisa De Masi was born in Italy in 1970 and has a professional background in law and project management.

Her passion for photography starts at the age of 13, after receiving an old camera as a gift from her father. Since then she trains as autodidact and by attending professional photography workshops.

She lived in France for eleven years (2000-2011), then moved to Brazil (2011), Argentina (2013), United Arab Emirates (2016) and finally Romania (2018).

Romania is for her a powerful source of inspiration, with its wild nature, largely still untouched, its architectural and archaeological beauties and ancestral traditions that are still very followed by people.

In photography she tries to "capture" a particular atmosphere, a fleeting form, an illusion of the gaze, the essence of a situation, of a place or of a person.

Post production retouching is reduced to a minimum, to leave the image its authenticity, and as far as possible its original structure, by using a "non-destructive" photo editing approach.

Her pictures are often taken in few seconds, by chance of being in the right place, with the right atmosphere and the right inspiration to connect to the place and to the people in a fleeting instant.
